Exact word count text generator
Set a number, get text with that many words — not roughly that many. Word counting here follows one visible rule: whitespace-separated tokens, with hyphenated compounds counted once and standalone punctuation ignored. The generator retries until the count lands on target, and every variant shows its actual count next to the target so you can verify before copying.
Opens in word mode with a manual target of 25 words.
Your text
Up to 20,000 characters per run. Emoji, accented characters and multiple paragraphs are all supported.
How your text is handled: matching runs in this browser tab, so the text you paste here is not sent to a TypeMatch server and is not saved between visits — closing or reloading the tab clears it. Usage analytics record only counts and settings, never your text. Anything you copy out is then handled by your own clipboard and the app you paste into.

A 25-word body paragraph
Target only — no source text needed
Exact words · 25
Every workspace keeps release notes, design tokens and review threads together so the team reads one version of the plan before the sprint begins today.
Counted with the same rule the tool displays: 25 whitespace-separated tokens.
When to use it
Copy decks with a word budget
When a brief says 'intro: 40 words max', drafting against an exact target is faster than writing and trimming.
CMS fields with word limits
Article excerpts and category descriptions often validate on word count. Test the field with a string that sits exactly on the boundary.
Translation length budgets
Word count is the usual unit in localisation estimates, so a word-accurate mock shows what a translator will be working against.
Frequently asked questions
How is a word counted?
+
A word is a run of characters separated by whitespace. Hyphenated compounds like 'drag-and-drop' count as one word, and punctuation standing alone between spaces is not counted. The rule is shown in the tool next to the target field.
What if the exact count is impossible?
+
The generator retries with different wording before giving up. If a variant still misses, it is labelled with the actual count and the difference instead of being presented as exact.
Can I keep the paragraph layout of my source?
+
Yes. Paste a source and the paragraph count is preserved while the total word count is distributed across those paragraphs.
Is the same target always the same text?
+
Each run produces three variants and a new run reshuffles them, so you can regenerate until the wording suits the mock.
